The Sky Park Residence apartment buildings are the first phase of a multi-purpose complex project on the territory of a former industrial zone. The author of the architectural design is the world-famous Zaha Hadid Architects studio. These are three identical towers with 31 floors and a height of 104 m, including more than 700 apartments, 1100 underground parking spots and facilities for civic amenities. The new city park spreads over the whole area of underground garages. Every single tower and the whole underground part form one unit with no expansion joints. In the design of the foundation, therefore, the requirement to limit the different settlement between the tower and the surrounding basement was decisive, which was achieved by the application of a piled-raft foundation. The flat slab of the underground floor under the park, loaded with layers of ground substrate of 1.0 to 3.0 m in thickness, has massive drop panels, locally with flat column heads. The residential towers have an interesting elliptical ground plan, which gradually extends from the ground floor in the transverse and longitudinal direction and gradually narrows from the half height to the roof. The roof of the building is finished with a steel structure of an elliptic dome shape, which forms the skeleton of the upper part of the façade exoskeleton. The open pillar skeleton in the parterre passes into the wall system on residential floors through transverse deep beams on the 3rd floor. A protective wind shield is was used during construction, which is continuously guided and shifted by a hydraulic system.
